As the year comes to a close, we want to look back on the paint color trends of 2022. Top brands like Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore have chosen soft green earth tones followed by HGTV Home and Behr with cool blue tones. They have also constructed color palettes for the upcoming year that consist of a balance of neutral colors and cooler toned accent colors that’ll bring a pop of color to your home. If you are thinking of repainting part of your home these are all great options for bringing some color or a new style into your home.

 

2022 Colors of the Year

Paint companies like to develop color trend forecasts to help consumers and homeowners avoid the stress of finding the right fresh, cohesive and up-to-date color for their home. Sherwin William's color of the year is "Evergreen Fog," which is a cooler shaded green which is shown below. They describe it as, "a versatile and calming hue, a chameleon color of gorgeous green-meets-gray, with just a bit of blue." Benjamin Moore's color of the year is slightly lighter and labeled as, "October Mist." They forecasted this trend because of how gentle it is as well as its ability to quietly anchor a space. Sherwin William's HGTV Home brand also made a color recommendation for the coming year. They chose "Aleutian," which is a shade of blue but has the same cool tone and appearance as the other colors of the year. Breezeway, Behr, and PPG's paint colors of the year are also ones to considered for a new paint project and are featured below.
