Easy & Inexpensive Home Improvement Projects

Every homeowner has that long list of projects or repairs that they would like to tackle in their home at some point. There seems to always be another item added to the list before you get the chance to check one off. A good way to get started is by taking on small tasks a little at a time. Here is a list of easy and inexpensive home improvement projects that you can start this weekend.

  1. Update your hardware on doors, cabinets, or drawers around your home. Switching out the cabinet pulls in the kitchen or the bathroom is an easy way to change up the style of the space.

  2. Similar to the hardware, switching out your faucets can visually add more interest to the space. This is especially a beneficial swap if you have a leaky faucet.

  3. Organize and clean up your electrical outlets. Utilizing power strips to organize and hide cords in one area will clean up your floor space. Another solution would be outlet covers or cord hiders. Keep in mind that it is important, for safety purposes, to not overload your circuits or leave any frayed wires exposed.

  4. Painting is always a great solution that makes a huge impact. If your wall paint seems to be in good shape, something else to think about could be more detailed painting projects. This could include freshening up trim around the house or repainting doors. Additionally, some fun projects could be to paint an accent wall, stair banisters, fireplace mantel, built-ins, cabinets, or even furniture around the house.

  5. In a smaller space, such as a bathroom, think about adding peel-and-stick vinyl tiles over your existing flooring. These tiles are inexpensive, easy to install, and come in a variety of styles.

These are simple home improvement projects for any homeowner to try out on their own. Any of the following updates would require little to no tools or equipment. You would be able to find all of the needed supplies at your local hardware store. Try these projects out and share your results with us!
